One of the biggest elements missing from this initial website launch, is something we campaigned on with our Kickstarter. The goal to help empower local makers.

We are used to being very hands on, DIY people. The transition to delegating and “letting go” will be a valuable and rewarding growth opportunity for us. We are currently working on making clear and concise manuals to help with the hand over + training of production.

That being said, we did already have some help thus far. You can look forward to us introducing and featuring those makers soon!

✨ We now proclaim the first Monday of each month to be “Meet the Maker Monday” ✨

👉 The first maker we would like to introduce you to is Tony Biancanello.

➡️ Short Version: Tony was a glassblower for 20 years before he started his new passion project of @sodawax. What better person to develop a deodorant then a person who sweats all day for a job!?!

➡️ Long version: Growing up in Philadelphia, Tony moved to Seattle in 1992 to learn glass.

➖Having no experience with the medium his first job was the nighttime charger (Filling the glass furnace) at the @glasseyestudio. He began teaching himself the basics and eventually got a job on the weekend day shift making paperweights before moving up to full time blowing making ornaments.

➖After taking some time off to travel Europe, he made his way back to Seattle and got a gig at Chihulys boathouse, then BMI (Ben Moore Studio). *where he first met @janusz_pozniak_glass

➖In 1999 he moved back to Pennsylvania and opened his own glass studio for 6 years. Never one to stay still Tony then moved back to Seattle in 2009 and eventually ended up as the Operations manager @glassybaby

➖Fast forward to today, Tony is the founder and creator of @sodawax natural deodorant.

😎 Fun Fact: He is an avid record collector with an impressive collection 🎶
